Tour Itinerary
We warmly welcome you at the Sunauli border, where our friendly guide and driver will assist with all formalities and make sure you’re settled and comfortable. From here, enjoy a scenic 2-hour drive to Lumbini, watching the plains, villages, and farmland pass by as your guide introduces you to Nepal’s rich culture and history.
Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and get ready to explore Maya Devi Temple, the birthplace of Buddha. Walk through the Sacred Garden, and visit the peace pagodas built by Japan, China, and Thailand, each with its own unique architecture and stories. Our guide will share interesting insights about the history, traditions, and spiritual importance of this UNESCO World Heritage site.
In the evening, we gather for a group reflection session in the hotel courtyard, a calm moment to share our first impressions of Nepal.
After a refreshing breakfast, our guide will escort you on the scenic drive to Pokhara, pointing out the changing landscapes, terraced farms, and traditional villages along the way. As we travel, we take in the breathtaking views and learn from our guide about the local culture, history, and daily life of the people living in these hills.
Upon reaching Pokhara, we start our sightseeing with a guided visit to Devi’s Fall, then continue to Gupteshwor Cave, known for its impressive rock formations and sacred Hindu shrines.
In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful boat ride on Phewa Lake, with your guide explaining the geography of the surrounding Annapurna peaks and pointing out local flora and fauna along the shore.
As the day winds down, take a stroll through Pokhara’s Lakeside Market, where you can experience local arts, handicrafts, and cafés. This is a great opportunity to relax, shop, and connect with your fellow students in a safe and vibrant setting.
We begin the day with morning sightseeing in Pokhara. Take a peaceful boat ride on Phewa Lake, gliding across its calm waters with the Annapurna peaks reflected around you. Our guide will share stories about the lake, local traditions, and the surrounding geography, giving you a deeper understanding of Pokhara’s natural and cultural landscape.
Next, visit Tal Barahi Temple, a charming pagoda located on a small island in the middle of the lake. Here, students can learn about the temple’s spiritual importance, local rituals, and the connection between the community and their natural surroundings.
After your morning activities, we embark on a scenic 4WD drive from Pokhara to Jomsom in Mustang. The journey takes you through the Kali Gandaki Valley, offering stunning views of terraced hills, traditional villages, and dramatic Himalayan peaks. Along the way, we’ll stop at the beautiful Rupse Waterfall and explore the charming streets of Marpha Village. Our guide will share insights into the geology, history, and culture of the Mustang region, making this more than just a drive; it’s an educational adventure.
Upon arrival in Jomsom, you’ll have the chance to experience Thakali culture firsthand. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Thakali thali dinner, a flavorful introduction to local cuisine, and engage with stories and customs shared by your hosts.
This day also helps your group acclimatize to higher altitudes safely, with our guide providing tips and support to ensure everyone is comfortable.
We begin our morning by exploring Kagbeni Village, a historic Tibetan settlement that offers a glimpse into traditional Himalayan life. Stroll through its narrow lanes, see centuries-old houses, and learn about local customs and culture from your guide.
From Kagbeni, continue the journey to Muktinath Temple (3,710 m), a sacred site for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. The drive from Kagbeni to Muktinath takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, gaining significant elevation as you enter the high Mustang region. Witness the famous 108 holy water spouts, observe rituals, and hear from your guide about the temple’s spiritual importance and its deep connection to Himalayan beliefs.
- A 15-minute walk is required from the vehicle parking area to reach the temple.
- Horse rides are available for those who prefer not to walk uphill.
After visiting Muktinath, we drive back to Pokhara, enjoying the changing landscapes, river valleys, and mountain views along the way. Your guide will share insights on the region’s ecology, culture, and high-altitude lifestyle, making the return trip both relaxing and informative.
Arrive in Pokhara in the evening after a 7–8 hour drive (approximately 160 km from Muktinath). You’ll have time to rest, enjoy a relaxing walk around Lakeside, or reflect on the day’s experiences with your group.
On this day, you start the morning with sightseeing around Pokhara. Visit the serene Pumdikot viewpoint, the impressive World Peace Pagoda, all with your guide explaining the history, culture, and local legends behind each site.
After breakfast, we embark on the drive to Kathmandu (6–7 hours). En route, we stop at Manakamana Temple, one of Nepal’s most revered Hindu shrines. Take the cable car ride up to the temple, enjoying panoramic views of the Trishuli River valley and surrounding hills. Your guide will share stories about the temple’s traditions, spiritual significance, and the customs of the devotees.
Once in Kathmandu, you’ll have free time to explore Thamel, the city’s vibrant tourist hub, or simply relax at your hotel after the journey. Our guide will be available to answer questions and provide tips for enjoying the evening safely.
Today is all about immersing yourself in Kathmandu’s rich culture and spiritual heritage. Begin with a visit to Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s holiest Hindu site. Observe the rituals along the sacred Bagmati River and learn from your guide about the temple’s history, its significance to millions of devotees, and the Hindu traditions practiced here.
Next, explore Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world’s largest Buddhist stupas. Walk around the stupa clockwise, spin the prayer wheels, and take in the peaceful atmosphere as monks chant and locals perform their daily devotions. Your guide will explain the symbolism of the stupa and the traditions of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal.
For those interested, there’s an optional visit to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, students can marvel at ancient Newar architecture, intricately carved wooden windows, and centuries-old temples while learning about Nepal’s medieval history.
In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with a cultural show, featuring traditional music, dance, and local cuisine, a memorable way to celebrate the end of your student tour.
After breakfast, the group departs for either Tribhuvan International Airport or the India–Nepal border at Sunauli.
- To Sunauli: The drive is approximately 263 km and usually takes 6–7 hours, passing through the Terai plains, small towns, and agricultural villages. Stop en route for lunch and last-minute shopping at local markets before completing customs and immigration formalities. Your guide assists throughout the journey to ensure a smooth and comfortable transfer.
- To the airport: Travel time is typically 30–60 minutes from central Kathmandu. The guide assists with check-in and departure procedures.
