Sacred Nepal Darshan Yatra
Sacred Nepal Darshan Yatra: Muktinath, Pashupatinath & Pokhara Pilgrimage (Road Tour from India)
India to Nepal 7-day pilgrimage tour, visiting two sacred Shiva sites, Pashupatinath and Muktinath. Explore Pokhara, Jomsom, and Kathmandu while experiencing Himalayan spirituality and culture. The 7-Day Sacred Nepal Darshan Yatra is a deeply spiritual pilgrimage journey designed for Indian devotees wishing to receive blessings at Nepal’s two most famous Shiva temples: Muktinath and Pashupatinath.
This sacred road journey starts at the India-Nepal border and leads first to Muktinath, the legendary temple of liberation set high in the Himalayas. At Muktinath, you’ll perform holy rituals, take a purifying bath under the 108 Muktidhara water spouts, and offer prayers at the Jwala Mai temple’s eternal flame. Pilgrims believe bathing here washes away past sins and grants spiritual freedom.
The pilgrimage continues to Kathmandu for darshan at Pashupatinath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a major destination for Shiva worshippers. At this ancient Bagmati riverside temple, you’ll take blessings of lord Pashupatinath. The powerful spiritual atmosphere of Pashupatinath, during evening aarti, leaves a lasting impression on devotees.
Along the route, you’ll also visit other holy places like Manakamana Temple (by cable car), Bindhyabasini in Pokhara, and sacred Buddhist sites. You’ll travel comfortably by road, staying in top hotels and enjoying delicious meals, with all temple arrangements, rituals, and local guides taken care of for you.
This tour is perfect for families, groups, and pilgrims who want a complete, worry-free temple darshan yatra, combining the Himalayan blessings of Muktinath and the spiritual energy of Pashupatinath, all within one carefully planned itinerary. Every day brings meaningful darshan, scenic drives, and a rich experience of Nepal’s Shiva holy places.

Tour Itinerary
Your pilgrimage begins with a warm welcome at the Sunauli border, where you’ll meet your guide and group before setting off on the scenic Siddhartha Highway. First day journey covers about 200 km, taking you through lively towns like Butwal and Tansen, with a drive of 6–7 hours ahead. The journey winds past lush valleys, patchwork farmlands, and classic Nepali villages, with the snow-capped Himalayas coming into view along the horizon.
You’ll travel along narrow, twisting mountain roads flanked by riverbanks and steep, terraced hillsides. Tea breaks and snack stops in friendly roadside settlements offer a taste of local life. With experienced drivers who know these mountain routes well, you can enjoy the changing landscape and feel at ease, even on the challenging sections. By evening, arrive in lakeside Pokhara, where the beauty of Bindhyabasini Temple and a calming aarti at Barahi Temple cap off your first day’s spiritual journey.
On the second day, you will set off for Jomosom. The road takes us through the Kali Gandaki Valley, with spectacular views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Tukuche peaks rising high above the river and villages along the way. We pass the towns of Balung, Beni, and Lete. You’ll see small villages and green hills, with farmers waving and smiling everywhere. We stop at Tatopani Hot Springs here, where you can dip your feet in the gentle, warm water and relax for a bit.
We pause to explore the Marpha village, walk around its friendly streets, and meet some local families. As we travel further, the valley narrows and the mountains look even bigger. By evening, we reach Jomsom, where the air is fresh and cool.
After checking in at our lodge, your guide takes everyone to the Kali Gandaki River. Here, you can see pilgrims collecting Shaligram stones, which are special and considered gifts from God. At dinner, you enjoy hot local food. The sounds of the river and mountains make for a peaceful night.
In the morning, the mountains look big and beautiful all around. Today is the day to visit Muktinath Temple. We will head towards the temple from Jomsom, about 25 kilometers away. The drive takes around 1 hour through a scenic valley. Once we reach the last stop, you’ll need to walk for about 10 minutes to get to Muktinath Temple. If anyone finds walking difficult, horses are available to ride for a short distance.
At the temple, you can take a holy bath under 108 water spouts. Your guide will help you with prayers at the eternal flame and inside the temple. Please note that photography inside the temple is not allowed.
After visiting, we say goodbye to Muktinath and drive back the same way, stopping for tea or photos outside the temple area. By evening, we reach Pokhara, and you can relax by the lake after a special day.
Today is all about discovering Pokhara’s peaceful side. We start our day early and drive to Sarangkot for sunrise. The road is quiet, and when we arrive, you can see the snowy mountains slowly turning golden as the sun comes up.
After breakfast, we visit Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave. The entrance of this cave looks small from outside, but inside it is cool and dark, and your guide points out the sacred Shiva lingam.
Next, we drive 20 minutes uphill to the World Peace Pagoda and enjoy the scenic views of Pokhara.
The afternoon is free for you to walk by the lake, chat with locals, or relax at a cafe with your group. Pokhara’s gentle beauty fills your day.

The journey to Kathmandu follows the Prithvi Highway alongside rivers and hills, passing through growing towns and stretches of countryside. En route, you stop at the Manakamana cable car station. The cable car ride offers wide views of valleys and farms below as you ascend to the hilltop temple.
At Manakamana Temple, you join fellow pilgrims for prayers and observe local rituals and offerings to the goddess. After spending some time at the temple, you take the cable car back down and resume your road journey. We will stop for lunch at one of the highway stops before continuing toward Kathmandu. The drive goes through Muglin and the outskirts of Kathmandu Valley.
By evening, you reach your hotel close to Pashupatinath Temple. The day ends with dinner and preparations for tomorrow’s spiritual circuit in Kathmandu.
This is your day early with a peaceful spiritual experience. Your guide will take you to Pashupatinath Temple for the sunrise darshan, where you can join the morning aarti and receive blessings in a calm, respectful setting.
After that, visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest in Nepal. Walk around the stupa with monks, spin the prayer wheels, and take part in the gentle rhythm of prayers and chants. Next, head to Budhanilkantha Temple to see the statue of the sleeping Vishnu and hear the fascinating legends your guide will share.
Continue to Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, where you’ll enjoy wide city views and a peaceful, reflective atmosphere.
Rise early for a visit to the Dakshinkali Templeocated about 22 km south of Kathmandu in a quiet forest valley. It takes roughly an hour by road from the city to reach the temple. Here, you’ll join fellow pilgrims to offer your last prayers to Goddess Kali, the fierce and protective form of the Mother Goddess. The peaceful setting, morning rituals, and riverside atmosphere offer a sense of gratitude and reflection, allowing you to gather blessings and positive energy before completing your spiritual journey.
After breakfast, choose your departure option:
- If you’re flying out, our team will drop you off at Kathmandu Airport and help with your bags and travel details.
- If you’re returning to India by road, we’ll drive a comfortable journey back to the Sunauli border.
Your journey includes support from your guide all the way, making sure you reach your destination safely, whether it’s the airport or the border.
