Muktinath Temple is a sacred pilgrimage site located at an altitude of 3,710 meters in the Mustang District of Nepal. The temple honors Lord Vishnu and serves as one of the eight sacred shrines for Hindu Vaishnavas. Buddhists recognize the site as the place where Guru Rinpoche meditated. Muktinath boasts 108 water spouts, a natural gas fire, and stunning landscapes.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival on any border of Nepal and India

Our representative from Debyani Tours will welcome you at your arrival destination and will drive to your hotel. After the refreshment break, you will be briefed about your trip schedules by our representative.

Day 2 – Drive to Pokhara

In the morning after breakfast, we will start our journey to the beautiful and charming city of Pokhara. The journey is memorable with beautiful landscapes, greenery, rivers, and views of local villages.

Day 3 – Sightseeing Pokhara

After breakfast, your tour guide will meet you at your hotel and brief you about Pokhara sightseeing points. You will be visiting all the major sightseeing destinations of Pokhara city today. Each of the attractions offers a unique experience, making Pokhara a must-visit destination for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and culture enthusiasts.

Day 4 – Sightseeing Pokhara

Day 5 – Jomsom to Muktinath temple and Drive back to Pokhara

Early in the morning, we will go to Muktinath Temple Darsan. Takes approx. 1hr drive from Jomsom to reach the temple.  The main temple houses a Vishnu idol. Pilgrims come to perform rituals and prayers in hopes of receiving blessings and purification. The 108 water spouts that are located around the temple. It is believed that bathing in these cold, mountain-fed spouts will purify the soul and cleanse away sins.

Day 6- Final Destination Pokhara to Border of India and Nepal

We are now ready for the final departure to the border of India and Nepal. The journey is so memorable as you will be seeing the beautiful landscapes, jungles, hill areas of Nepal, villages, and the Terai region of Nepal. Depending upon the destination duration of your journey may take 5-8 hours.

Our representative will prepare for your final departure and farewell.

FAQ

Q1. What is the best time to visit Muktinath Temple? (+)
October-November and December are the best months. Besides, March, April, and May are other months suitable for the visit to Muktinath Temple.

Q2. Can I take a flight from Pokhara to muktinath temple? How is the road condition? (+)
Yes, except in the monsoon and mid-winter. But the flights will be operated only in the morning by 18 seated planes. Due to the heavy wind, flights can't be operated after 11 am. The road is amazing except for 3-4 hours of off-roading. However, they are mending roads and hope all parts will be good soon. But, in monsoon, it becomes a bit tough as there will be heavy rainfall in the lower Annapurna region.

Q3. What is the availability of food and accommodations while in Mustang (Muktinath region)? (+)
Typical Nepali, Indian, continental and Thakali meals are available in the region. However Thakali Dal, bhat set is one of the best and must try meal people enjoy. Accommodations vary according to the place. For example, Pokhara is the base of the tour and different types of hotel categories are available there. Tatopani, Marpha, Jomsom, Kagbeni, and Muktinath are other renowned destinations, where good accommodation facilities are available.

Q4. What about altitude sickness in Muktinath Temple? (+)
There is always a risk of having altitude sickness above 2500m of Sea level. Our guides are well trained and aware of how to minimize the risk of altitude sickness while going to high altitude region.
